Propagation
Sow seed when ripe in containers and place in a cold frame or sow directly in a prepared bed. The seeds may require some stratification.


Botanic information
Leaf: The short pointed glossy dark green acicular leaves are 4-angled with light stomatic bands on each surface and arranged incurved along the shoots.

Flower: The male flowers are catkin-like and the greenish female cones are upright at first becoming pendant. They appear from late spring to early summer.

Fruit: The small cone has rounded slightly toothed persistent scales and fall from the tree after opening.
