Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 18º to 21º C. (64º to 75º F).
Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during late spring and semi hardwood cuttings during late summer.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are narrow lanceolate to elliptical with an entire recurved margin and has spines at the apex. The upper surface is glossy green and the underside is dull green. They are arranged in groups of three alternately along the stems.
Flower: The bright yellow cyathiform flowers are arranged in an axillary clustered raceme and appear profusely during spring. The petals and sepals are imbricate in two rows with the sepals are reflexed.
Fruit: The berry is glaucous with a fleshy texture and is arranged in clusters. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively in order to maintain true to type.
