Propagation
Sow fresh seed from autumn and in cold climates place in a cold frame.
Take semi hardwood cuttings during late summer apply bottom heat.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green pinnate leaves have up to 26-ovate to oblong aromatic leaflets that have a papery texture and smell of onions when crushed. The leaflets are red-pink when young becoming dark green and turning yellow during autumn before falling.
Flower: The small fragrant greenish cyathiform flowers are arranged in a pendant terminal panicle that is up to 300mm (12in) long. It appears during midsummer.
Fruit: The woody capsules contain winged seeds. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
