Propagation
Take semi-hardwood cuttings taken during summer.
Note:
Avoid pruning during winter or early spring as the oozing sap may encourage fungal disease. When used as a cut flower cut back to the nearest node on the stem.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are broad elliptical to ovate and have an acute apex. The underside veins are pubescent and during autumn the leaves turn yellow before falling.
Flower: The white to pink crateriform flowers appear prior to the foliage in profuse clusters with up to 5-blooms during early spring.
Fruit: The small cherry-like drupe is red maturing to black with a small seed.The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively in order to maintain true to type.
