Propagation
Sow seed when ripe and it may require scarification. Apply bottom heat at 27ºC (81ºF) and it can take 3 to 12 months to germinate.


Botanic information
Leaf: The arching pinnate fronds have linear to lanceolate leaflets and the petiole is up to 1m (3ft) long and is flexible.

Flower: The tiny male and female crateriform flowers appear separately with 2-yellowish male flowers accompanying 1-greenish female flower. Both have 3-sepals and 3-petals that are overlapping in bud. The pendant unbranched spike appears in the leaf axils during early summer.

Fruit: The fleshy drupe is yellow ripening to bright red and appears in pendant clusters.
