Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and in cold climates place in a cold frame.
Divide established clumps (rhizome) during spring after flowering.
Botanic information
Leaf: The long flat mid-green linear leaves have leathery texture and are arranged in basal tufts.
Flower: The funnelform flowers have 6-expanded tepals that have brown central veins. They are white or having a pinkish tinge and have green-white bracts. They are arranged in a branched terminal panicle that is held above the foliage on a tall scape during spring.
Fruit: The green capsule splits into 3 and the small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
