Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification (peeling treatment).

Take semi-hardwood cuttings taken in autumn or spring.

Note:
It regenerates from seed or lignotuber after fire.

Botanic information
Leaf: The bipinnatisect leaves have a short petiole and ascending linear leaflets that are pubescent and are up to 10mm (?in) long.

Flower: The small red tubulate flowers have yellow tipped styles up to 20mm (µin) longand are arranged in a terminal raceme that is up to 20mm (µin) long. They appear from autumn to late winter.

Fruit: The oblong shaped follicle is up to 4mm (?in) wide with a thin pericarp and the small seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
