Propagation
Sow fresh seed from autumn to spring and in cold climates place in a cold frame.
Take semi-hardwood cuttings during summer.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are ovate to lanceolate with entire margins that tend to curve downwards. The surface is covered in silvery-grey hairs and the underside has a prominent whitish mid rib and veins. It has a short petiole and the apex is obtuse.
Flower: The 2-lipped tubulate flowers have prominent upright stamens and are arranged in a terminal raceme. The flowering period is long from spring to summer and in warm climates flowers appear sporadically throughout the year.
Fruit: The tiny mature fruit forms nutlets. The small seed is not commonly seen and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
