Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. The seeds may require scarification.
Take soft tip or semi hardwood cuttings from summer to autumn.
Botanic information
Leaf: The small glossy dark green ovate leaves are deeply lobed and have a sticky velvety appearance with glands that contain aromatic oils.
Flower: The small 4-lobed tubulate flowers have a prominent lower lip with 4 acute teeth and the inside is whitish. The ribbed pedicle is short and thick and the flowers are arranged in a terminal cluster during summer.
Fruit: The tiny fruit is composed of 4 nutlets. The small seed is not commonly seen and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
