Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 24ºC.

Take soft tip or semi-hardwood cuttings during late summer to early winter and apply bottom heat.


Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy green orbicular leaves upper surface has a quilted appearance with prominentveins and the petiole is short. They are arranged in opposite pairs alternately down the stems.

Flower: The tiny 3 to 4-tepalled male and female crateriform flowers are arranged in an axillary cluster that appears from late spring to summer but are not normally a feature of the plant.

Fruit: The small fruit contains numerous tiny seeds. The small seed is not commonly seen and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.


Culture
This plant requires temperatures above 12ºC (55ºF) during winter and placed in bright indirect light. It is an easy plant to grow and propagate.

Watering
During summer water regularly and allowing the soil too partially dry out between watering.
In winter use tepid water more sparingly. Do not allow the soil to become wet.

Humidity
During summer mist the leaves during daylight regularly to maintain a humid environment.

Re-potduring spring but in some countries Pilea cadierei is regarded as an annual.
