Propagation
Divide rhizomes in to lengths and plant upwards, bottom heat and keep moist during growing period.

Sow fresh seeds during spring and maintain a temperature of 19º to 27º C. (66º to 81º F).

Divide offsets during spring.

Botanic information
Leaf: The reflexed glossy dark green leaves are oblong to lanceolate with a petiole up to 250mm (10in) long. The apex is acuminate and the leaves have a thick leathery texture.

Flower: The tiny flowers are arranged in a curled spadix that is accompanied by a broad elliptical red spathe that is up to 100mm (4in) long. They appear from late spring to summer and sporadically throughout the year.

Fruit: The small berry is not commonly seen and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.

Anthurium scherzerianum
requires a minimal temperature of 15ºC (60ºF) during winter with bright indirect light and high humidity. Mist the plants when indoors regularly and keep the soil moist but not wet, reduce during winter.

If the plant has brown or yellow leaf tips, curled foliage and poor flowers it is usually related to low humidity or cold conditions.
These plants may be difficult to grow but basically requires a humid tropical atmosphere.
