Propagation
Surface of sow fresh seeds during winter or late spring and maintain a temperature of 18º to 21º C. (64º to 75º F).

Divide established clumps (rhizome) during spring.

Take leaf cuttings from spring to summer and placed in warm humid environment.

Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy dark green oblong leaves have an obtuse apex with a textured upper surface and are slightly pubescent. The underside is silver green with prominentveins and the apex is obtuse.

Flower: The red, pink and purple tubulate flowers are solitary or are arranged in a cyme with 5 expanding petals. They are available in a variety of bright colours some with white throats and appear from late spring to summer.

Fruit: The small brown capsule produces tiny seeds. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively in order to maintain true to type.

Culture
These plants require a minimal temperature of 12ºC (55ºF) during winter and are grown in bright indirect light, avoiding direct sun.
When watering, allow the soil surface to dry before re-watering and reduce the watering during winter.

The plants respond to misting in summer but wetting the leaves should be avoided.
Plants may be re-potted yearly during spring in a loam-less potting mix and at the same time can be divided.
