Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during spring and maintain a temperature of 19º to 27º C. (66º to 81º F).

Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during the growing period.

Aerial layering of branchlets is carried out during the growing period.

Botanic information
Leaf: The large imparipinnate dark glossy green leaves are composed of 9 to 19-elliptical to oblong leaflets up to 75mm (4in) long and when young are bronze colour. The upper surface has prominentveins and is glabrous.

Flower: The cyathiform flowers are blood-red with yellow frilled margins and have a crepe-like texture. They contain ample nectar and the calyx is leathery. They are arranged in a terminal raceme and the flowers appear in succession over summer.

Fruit: The cigar-shaped capsule splits down one side to release the seeds. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
