Sow fresh seeds during autumn to winter outdoors.
Graft plants during late winter.

Botanic information
Leaf: The palmately lobed leaves expand into full size and have 7 to 11 serrated lobes and a red petiole. During autumn the leaves turn a brilliant red before falling. The buds are also reddish, valvate and pubescent at the base.

Flower: The small reddish crateriform flowers are arranged in an upright umbel that becomes pendulous as it matures during late spring.

Fruit: The samara are in pairs and joined at the base with membranous wings that are yellow-green turning reddish-brown with age. The wings are arranged almost opposite and the seed is dispersed by wind.
