Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).

Take root, basal or tip cuttings during spring to early summer and semi-hardwood cuttings from summer to late summer.

Divide established clumps during spring.

Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are elliptical to ovate and arranged decussate on squarish stems. The leaf texture is soft and may be pubescent with an obtuse apex and the petiole is short.

Flower: The 2-lipped tubulate flowers have a hooded upper lip and spreading lower lip and are arranged oppositely in a terminal raceme that appears from late summer to early autumn.

Fruit: The tiny viable seeds are produced via a nutlet that develops inside the calyx. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
