Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).

Take stem cuttings during summer to autumn and apply bottom heat.


Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green ovate leaves have a short petiole and an acuminate apex. The slightly crinkled pubescent upper surface is heavily spotted with pinkish blotches.

Flower: The small 2 lipped tubulate flowers have a twisted corolla and are arranged in a terminal raceme that is up to 160mm (6in) long. They appear from mid-summer to autumn.

Fruit: The small capsule is not commonly seen but the plant self-sows easily in a warm climate.The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively in order to maintain true to type.

Light
As a potted plant it requires bright light with some direct sun to enhance the pinkish colours.

Watering
When watering keep the soil evenly moist during summer and reduce watering during winter. The plant also responds to regular misting of the foliage to maintain a high humidity.

Pots
Re-pot using a loam based soil mix or plant out during spring.

Temperature
The plant requires an average temperature of not less than 20ºCto 55ºFduring winter
