Divide established clumps from late winter to spring and keep moist.
Note:
It has become a weed in many parts of Australia invading watercourses particularly in urban areas and is control by physical removal.
The large edible tubers must be boiled several times prior to eating.
All parts if ingestedraw may cause stomach upset and contact with the sap causes skin irritation.
Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy dark green leaves are cordate with a sagittate base that envelops the petiole and the texture thin and leathery. The black petiole is up to 1.5m (5 ft) long.
Flower: The spadix has very short sterile appendages and is not commonly seen under cultivation. It appears during summer.
Fruit: The small fleshy berry is glossy green and contains a single seed that is not commonly seen and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
