Botanic information
Leaf: The bright green ovate leaves have a cordate base and an acute apex. The long petiole is fleshy and the surface of the leaf is sticky and pubescent.

Flower: The short-lived fragrant salverform flowers are arranged in a terminal panicle that tends to be pendent. They open during the late afternoon and appear during summer. The colour range includes white, pink, red to purple or striped and may have more than one colour on a single plant.

Fruit: The hard ribbed nut appears in the apex of the flowering stem. The small seed is not commonly used and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
