Sow fresh seeds during spring in situ or in a container.

Take soft tip and semi hardwood cuttings taken during summer.


Botanic information
Leaf: The variable soft textured leaf is elliptical to lanceolate with an entire to lobed margin. The lower juvenile foliage is deeply pinnatifid with 2 to 11 lobes. The apex is acute to acuminate and the petiole is up to 20 mm (µ in)long.

Flower: The purplish rotate flowers have spreading acute lobes with a yellow centre and are arranged in an axillary cyme up to 130mm (5in) wide that appears from late spring to early summer.

Fruit: The oval shaped berry is yellow turning orange-red on maturity. The unripe fruit is poisonous and should not be eaten. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
