Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.
Take soft tip or semi hardwood cuttings from summer to autumn.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dull green leaves vary from lanceolate to oblanceolate and the margin is serrate but sometimes it is entire. The underside of the leaf is pale green.
Flower: The labiate flowers have 5-large lobes that are pale mauve to white and the throat has purple spots. The bottom lobes are spreading and its scent is simular to Eucalyptus. They are arranged in a raceme that appears during early summer.
Fruit: The tiny nut is enclosed by the persistent calyx and splits in to four rugose (wrinkled) 1 seeded compartments. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
