Propagation
Take semi-hardwood cuttings taken during late summer to autumn, up to 50mm (2in) long and dipped into hormone powder.
Leaf bud cuttings are taken from summer to autumn.
Note:
The foliage may cause skin irritations so care should be taken when pruning.
Once established this plant requires little care and is only pruned to contain.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are deeply pinnatisect up to 88 mm (3½ in) wide with entire margins. The new foliage is bronze-red and the lobes are pointed. The upper surface of mature leaves is dark green with pale green veins and the underside is lighter.
Flower: The small tubulate flowers have a short pedicle and a red style with a yellowish polled presenter. They are arranged in a one-sided raceme 'toothbrush-like' up to 80 mm (4in) long and appear from spring to summer. In warm climates flowers are produced throughout the year.
Fruit: The fruit is not normally producedand the plant is always reproduced vegetatively.
