Tissue culture is used for commercial production.

This plant may be difficult to cultivate in the eastern states of Australia as it suffers from ink disease and phytophthora root rot.
Botanic information
Leaf: The grey-green leaves are linear to narrow lanceolate up to 30 mm (11/4 in) wide and grow from a sheathed base.
Flower: The pubescent tubular flower has 6-lobes on one side that curl backwards and are arranged in a terminal raceme high above the foliage on a slender scape from spring to early summer.
Fruit: The fruit is a 3-celled capsule and the small seeds are not normally seen. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
