Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. The seeds may require scarification.
Take soft tip or semi hardwood cuttings from summer to autumn.
Botanic information
Leaf: The mid-green narrow elliptical to orbicular leaves are arranged in whorls of 3 to 5 and the margin is entire to recurved.
Flower: The 4 to 5 petalled crateriform pink flowers have white pubescent stalks and the dark sepals are also bristly. They appear profusely from the leaf axils during spring.
Fruit: The small capsules are compressed and open to release numerous small seeds. The seeds are viable but may be difficult to germinate and the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
