Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).

Divide mature clumps (rhizome) during spring or autumn.


Botanic information
Leaf: The basal leaves are broad lanceolate to oblong with an entire margin and the mid-green stem leaves are lanceolate with serrated margin. The leaves have prominent veins and are slightly pubescent.

Flower: The ray-florets are bright yellow-orange and tend to hang downwards and the conical disc-florets are black. They appear abundantly above the foliage on a slender dark scape during midsummer.

Fruit: The small seeds are a cypsela and are dispersed by wind.
