Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during spring and maintain a temperature of 19º to 27º C. (66º to 81º F).

Take cuttings during spring and placed on a misting bench with bottom heat.

Note:
This plant has a common name of Akaura or Ruta, which is widely applied to several of the Metrosiderosgenus.

Botanic information
Leaf: The thick leathery textured oblong to elliptical leaves have a short petiole and tends to fold upwards. They are dotted with glands on the surface and are slightly aromatic.

Flower: The profuse cyathiform flowers are composed of 5-sepals and 5-small orbicular petals with stamens up to 15mm (?in) long. They are arranged in a cyme towards the end of the branches and appear during early summer.

Fruit: The globose leathery capsule appears in clusters during autumn. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
