Seeds require scarification before sowing. Scald the seeds with very hot water (not boiling).
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves vary from ovate to linear and may have a slightly serrated margin.
Flower: The tubulate flowers are split at the base with 3-narrow oblong petals, with a longer centre one that forms a lip and the 2-upper petals are curled.There are 8 to 10-flowers arranged in a one sided terminal raceme that appears during spring.
Fruit: This annual forms an upright to scrambling habit with weak stems. It has narrow ovate dark green leaves at the base and the mauve tube-shaped flowers appear in a raceme towards the top of the plant from early spring to summer.
