Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).
Take cuttings during summer and placed on a misting bench.
Botanic information
Leaf: The up-curving leathery textured obovate leaves are covered in silky hairs and the apex is acute and the leaves are arranged oppositely radiating out along the stem.
Flower: The small cyathiform flower has a hairy ovoid calyx tube with 5-persistent lobes and 5-rounded petals that are spreading. The 25mm (1in) long stamens are prominent exserted with white anthers. They are arranged in a terminal leafy spike that appears during spring.
Fruit: The small capsule is rimmed with persistent calyx lobes and when the small wingless seeds are released the capsule falls from the plant. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
