Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 19º to 27º C. (66º to 81º F).

Divide established clumps (rhizome) during spring.


Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are broad elliptical with prominent veins on the upper surface. They are a flat dark green and may have silver markings.

Flower: The tubulate flowers have a corolla tube that is split on one side with three lanceolate petals and a staminodia lip that may be lobed. The flowers are arranged in a terminal spike up to 50mm (2in) long and appears during summer.

Fruit: The small capsule is not commonly seen and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
