Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.
Divide established clumps (rhizome) during spring.
Botanic information
Leaf: The bright green leaves are long lanceolate and tend to arch when mature and are arranged in two rows.
Flower: The bisexual flowers are irregular in symmetry and arranged on a spike that is held above the foliage on a scape that is up to 2 m (6ft) tall.They appear during summer.
Fruit: The numerous small seed have endosperm. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
