Botanic information
Leaf: The needle-like mid-green linear leaves may be divided once or twice and are terete with a pointed apex.

Flower: The small reddish purple tubulate flowers are arranged in an axillary cluster on a short peduncle and appear profusely from winter to spring.

Fruit: The oblong woody follicle has a pointed apex up to 15 mm (? in) wide and there are normally only a few on the plant. The fruit is persisted and the seeds are released after fire.

General pruning information
These plants tolerate a light prune to a node normally after flowering. Do not prune into old wood as it will not regenerate and if the plant has become leggy and woody it will not regenerate after a hard prune. It requires replacement.
