Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during spring and maintain a temperature of 18º to 21º C. (64º to 75º F)


Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are broad linear and are pubescent to glabrous. The apex is obtusely mucronate and the leaf has 5 to 9-nerves on the upper surface.

Flower: The red tubulate flowers are arranged in dense axillary raceme with the rachis covered in tomentose. They appear from late winter to early spring.

Fruit: The ovoid shaped woody follicle is acutely beaked and the narrow elliptical seeds have a terminal wing.

General pruning information
These plants tolerate a light prune to a node normally after flowering. Do not prune into old wood as it will not regenerate and if the plant has become leggy and woody it will not regenerate after a hard prune. It requires replacement.
