Propagation
Surface sow fresh seeds during spring in a well-drained media, and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F). Prick out and pot up when they are large enough to handle.
Botanic information
Leaf: The juvenile leaves are ovate to broad lanceolate with a short petiole and a rounded base. The glossy dark green adult leaves are broad-lanceolate tapering to a fine point, discolorous and petiolate.
Flower: The tiny axillary buds are up to 17mm (?in)long with ribbed hypanthia that is hemispherical. The operculum is horn-shaped and up to 3-times the length of the hypanthia. There are 5 to 10 arranged in an umbel and the white flowers appear from spring to summer.
Fruit: The ovoid woody capsules are pedicellate with a variable disk that may be ascending or descending with 3 to 4-strongly exserted valves.
General pruning information
Eucalyptusspecies require little pruning apart from removal of damaged or dead wood, which should be taken off at the collar. If the tree is cut back hard it will produce epicormic shoots and the crown may be lifted or thinned by removal of selected branches.
