Propagation
Surface sow fresh seed during spring in a well-drained media, and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F). Prick out and pot up when they are large enough to handle.


Botanic information
Leaf: The pendulous juvenile leaves are ovate and up to 170mm (6µin)long. The concolorous adult leaves are petiolate and may be falcate to lanceolate.

Flower: The small yellow buds are clavate (drumstick) shape and the opercula are hemispherical. There are 5 to 12 arranged in an umbel on a short peduncle. The cream coloured flowers appear from winter to early spring.

Fruit: The pear-shaped (obconical) capsule tapers towards the base and the disk is level or slightly descending below the rim with the 3-valves enclosed.

General pruning information

Eucalyptusspecies require little pruning apart from removal of damaged or dead wood, which should be taken off at the collar. If the tree is cut back hard it will produce epicormic shoots and the crown may be lifted or thinned by removal of selected branches.
