Propagation
Sow fresh seeds after stratifying in a cool moist position for one month during spring and maintain a temperature of 18º to 21º C. (64º to 75º F).
Botanic information
Leaf: The small grey-green scale leaves are overlapping and are flattened along the waxy whitish twigs. They have white resin dots and are arranged in dense sprays with a soft texture.
Flower: The tree is monoecious with small yellowish oblong male cones and a prickly spherical female cone that matures in the second year. They appear during spring.
Fruit: The small elongated female cones are up to 30mm (1¥in) wide with 6 to 8 peltate scales and are arranged in clustersthat persist on the tree for many years.
