Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during early spring and pre-soak the seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. The seeds may require scarification.

Take soft tip or semi hardwood cuttings from summer to autumn.

Botanic information
Leaf: The small bright green linear leaves may be slightly pubescent and are triangular in cross section. The dwarf form has grey-green leaves.

Flower: The stellate flowers have 5-petals that soon fall and leave persistent calyx on the plant. They are arranged densely in a terminal cluster that appears from late winter to spring. There are different forms that have dark pink flowers to white, with the lighter colour plants being more vigorous.

Fruit: The nut is purple-brown colour and bristly, but the small seed is not commonly used and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
