Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.

Take soft tip or semi hardwood cuttings from summer to autumn.

Botanic information
Leaf: The leaf shape varies from elliptical to falcate and tapers at both ends. The texture is thick and the bright green phyllodes have as a central nerve.

Flower: The bisexual tubulate flowers have inconspicuous sepals and petals with prominentstamens. They occur in a ball-shaped cluster that has asmooth peduncle and are arranged in racemes that are up to 50 mm (2in) long, appearing during spring.

Fruit: The pods are straight or slightly curved and may have some construction between the hard black seeds. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.

General information on pruning Acacia species
Tolerates a light prune after flowering back to a node, remove any dead wood back to the collar. If there is insufficient light towards the base of the tree prune the crown to allow the light in. The plants tend to be easily damaged by wind or borers, and damaged material should be removed.
