Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring.
Take soft tip cuttings from summer to autumn.

Culture
This plant is naturally found on forest floors with the roots in cool moist soils that are tending alkaline and the foliage in a sunny position.

Botanic information
Leaf: The trifoliate leaves have leaflets that are lanceolate to ovate and the margin is entire to occasionally serrated. The bright green leaflets have a soft texture and tend to fold upwards.

Flower: The creamy-white stellate flowers lack petals and are composed of 4-petal-like sepals with numerous stamens. They are arranged in an axillary cluster that has a long pedicel and appears during spring.

Fruit: The persistent styles are plumose forming long appendages giving the seed a long bearded attractive appearance. The small seed is dispersed by wind. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.

General pruning information
Spring flowering species require little or no pruning as the flowers appear on the previous season`s growth. The autumn flowering species may be cut back hard during spring if required.
