Sow fresh seed from autumn.
Take semi-hardwood cuttings 10cm (4in) long taken during summer after flowering.
Note:
This shrub responds to pruning.
Botanic information
Leaf: The thick leathery textured leaves variy in shape from narrow elliptical to broad lanceolate up to 40 mm (1? in) wide with an acute apex and a short petiole. They are arranged densely towards the end of the branches and the margin has distinct blunt teeth and glands.
Flower: The small showy white-flushed-pink cyathiform flowers have a short slender pedestal and are arranged in pendant terminal raceme up to 180 mm (7 in) long. The flowers appear during spring and may reappear again during autumn.
Fruit: The small capsule has two valves and contains numerous winged seeds. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
