Propagation
Surface sow fresh seed during spring in a well-drained media, and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F). Prick out and pot up when they are large enough to handle.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leathery textured leaves are broad oblong to oval and are up to 50 mm (2in) wide with a short reddish petiole.

Flower: The reddish buds are conical and open to large flowers with exserted yellow stamens. They are arranged in an umbel of 3 in the leaf axils from late winter to spring.

Fruit: The bell-shaped woody capsule has a broad disk and the valves are lower than the rim.

General pruning information
Eucalyptusspecies require little pruning apart from removal of damaged or dead wood, which should be taken off at the collar. If the tree is cut back hard it will produce epicormic shoots and the crown may be lifted or thinned by removal of selected branches.
