Propagation
Surface sow fresh seed during spring in a well-drained media, and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F). Prick out and pot up when they are large enough to handle.
Botanic information
Leaf: The juvenile leaves are ovate to 60mm(2½in) long and the dull green adult leaves are lanceolate with a thick-leathery texture and are concolorous.
Flower: The cylindrical buds have a short pedicle and open to white flowers with exserted stamens. There are 3 to 7 flowers arranged in an umbel that appears during summer.
Fruit: The cylindrical capsule has a narrow disk with 3 to 4-erect valves that may be exserted. The tiny seeds are bright red.
General pruning information
Eucalyptusspecies require little pruning apart from removal of damaged or dead wood, which should be taken off at the collar. If the tree is cut back hard it will produce epicormic shoots and the crown may be lifted or thinned by removal of selected branches.
