Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. The seeds may require scarification.

Take soft tip or semi hardwood cuttings from summer to autumn.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves vary from linear, lanceolate to narrow elliptical and are up to 7 mm (1/2 in) wide. They have a soft texture and are very aromatic with small glands on the surface.

Flower: The waxy stellate flowers range in colour from white, pink to red with 5-petals that are up to 15 mm (3/4 in) long and 10-stamens. They appear solitary in the upper leaf axils during spring.

Fruit: The fruit is a schizocarp capsule with 5-valves. The small seed is not commonly used as it may take up to 2-years to germinate and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.

Note
Eriostemonspecies are generally reliable flowering shrubs that requires well drained sandy soil that are mulched. They prefer shade from mid day sun with reliable moisture and wind protection. They are susceptible to the roots drying out and collar rot. In exposed positions the plants may require staking.
