Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring or autumn and place in a cold frame.
Divide established clumps during spring.
Botanic information
Leaf: The mid-green linear leaves are often grooved and the margins may be recurved. The glabrous leaves are pungent when crushed.
Flower: The small white to pink crateriform flowers are arranged in globular heads up to 45mm (1¥in) wide with a wiry peduncle up to 300mm (12 in) long. They appear from spring to summer.
Fruit: The small nut is retained inside the persistent calyx. The small seed is not commonly seen and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
