Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.
Take cuttings during summer and placed on a misting bench.
Grafted varieties are available for heaver soils.
Botanic information
Leaf: The grey-green pinnate leaves are composed of narrow linear leaflets that have a leathery texture.
Flower: The waxy tubulate flowers have pink to reddish perianth segments with a greenish-yellow limb. The flowers are arranged in a terminal or axillary raceme that appears throughout summer.
Fruit: The follicle has a leathery texture. The small seed is not commonly seen and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
