Botanic information
Leaf: The leaf shape varies from orbicular to broad ovate with a sub-cordate base, acuminate apex and a petiole up to 55mm (2¥in) long. The leaf margin may be undulate and setose-serrate. During autumn the leaves turn red to coral colour before falling.

Flower: The 5-petalled pale pink turning white crateriform flowers are arranged in umbel-like raceme with short peduncles and the calyx is persistent on the plant. The flowers appear profusely during mid spring.

Fruit: The pome is spherical in shape and is yellow brown in colour.

Culture
Normally little pruning is required. When young the plant may be trained to form a single trunk or to form a vase habit with mutable trunks. The plant may also be espaliered against a wall or on a wire frame. Established plants flower then fruit on two to three year old wood and over pruning results in excessive foliage and no flowers.
