Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.

Take soft tip or semi hardwood cuttings from summer to autumn.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are oblong to obcordate with swellings or nodules (tubercular) and the apex is obtuse. The texture thick and leathery and the leaf tends to fold upwards in a V-shape.

Flower: The waxy stellate flowers range in colour from white to pink with 5-petals that are up to 8 mm (1/4 in) long with 10-stamens. They appear in the upper leaf axils from spring to early summer.

Fruit: The fruit is a schizocarp capsule with 5-valves. The small seed is not commonly used and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.

Culture
Eriostemonspecies are generally reliable flowering shrubs that require well drained sandy soil types that are mulched. They prefer shade from mid day sun with reliable moisture and wind protection. They are susceptible to the roots drying out and collar rot and in an exposed positions the plants may require staking.
