Propagation
Sow seed during spring and seedlings may be used as rootstock for grafting or budding from winter to early spring.

Plants may be transplanted during the dormant period.
Layering Is carried out on lower branches.


Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green ovate leaves have 3 to 5-triangular lobes and the undersides are a bluish-white (glaucous) with fine pubescence along the veins. The apex is acute and the reddish petiole is long. The red to greenish blunt buds, are imbricate up to 8mm (?in) long with rounded scales.

Flower: The tiny flowers are arranged in an upright cluster appearing before the leaves during spring.

Fruit: The acutely angled twin samara forms in a weeping cluster at the end of the branches and has a swollen pericarp.
