Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy dark green elliptical leaves have a petiole up to 55 mm (2 ¥in) long and the apex tapers to a blunt point. It is concolorous and up to 60 mm (3in) wide with a prominentmid rib.
Flower: The tiny flowers appear in the leaf axils are enclosed in the developing fruit that is solitary or arranged in pairs during early summer.
Fruit: The oblong pome grows in pairs and ripens green to deep purple then falling from the tree. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
