Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours.

Seeds may require scarification (peeling treatment). Take semi hardwood cuttings in autumn or spring. Graft onto G. robustaroot stock.

This plant is resistantto Phytophthora cinnamomi.


Botanic information
Leaf: The small sessile grey-green leaves are narrow oblong with an obtuse apex and both surfaces are covered in fine hairs. The leaves are arranged oppositely or in whorls densely along the stems.

Flower: The small tubulate flower has a pedicle up to 6mm (¥in)long with ovoid perianth segments that are red-pink to cream with an exserted style up to 15mm (?in) long. The flowers are arranged in a terminal or axillary cluster and appear from late winter to spring. They are bird pollinated.

Fruit: The cylindrical follicle is up to 7mm (¥in) wide with a thin ribbed pericarp and contain smooth-glossy narrow elliptical seeds to 8mm (?in) long with revolute margins with a short membranous wing. It is reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
