Propagation
Take soft tip or semi hardwood cuttings during summer and autumn. Place in a warm humid environment and grow in a well-drained media.
Culture
Young plants respond to a regular tip prune to encourage a dense habit and older plants may have the flowering wood cut back by half to rejuvenate, but old wood will not re-shoot.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are ovate to lanceolate up to 70 mm (2? in) wide and the margin may be slightly too deeply pinnatisect. The dark green leaves have a silvery-felty appearance due to the dense covering of white hairs.
Flower: The yellow flower heads tend to appear in the second year of growth and are arranged in open terminal compound corymb amongst the foliage. They appear from late spring to summer.
Fruit: The small one seeded fruit has a tuft or white hairs at one end, but the fruit is normally removed during cultivation. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
