Botanic information
Leaf: The bright green leaves are spathulate to oval and have a wavy upper surface. The apex is obtuse and the petiole is short.
Flower: The radiate flowers have ray-florets tinged with maroon or pink and normally have yellow disc florets. They are held above the foliage on a slender leafless scape and appear from spring to summer. Many cultivars are available ranging in colour from red to pink and white in singles, doubles and semi-double.
Fruit: The small seeds are dispersed by wind. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively in order to maintain true to type.
